Battalion
is a discipleship-centered program where Christian men build personal
relationships with teen guys and mentor them to be effective Christian
leaders. These 12-18 year-old young men share experiences in peer group
leadership through weekly meetings, the achievement program, service
projects and outings, helping them to become leaders by leading.
Battalion leaders are trying to:
- Guide young men to the Lord
- Guide young men to the Word of God
- Guide young men to Christian maturity
- Guide young men to the local church
Pre-Meeting Activities
This
is a great way to channel boys' energy when they first arrive for the
meeting and to build friendships with them in an informal setting. We
suggest you involve them in games or other activities.
Battalion Formation
This
is an opening formation for announcements, prayer and information
related to the night's meeting. It quickly organizes the group and
establishes control.
Squad Meetings
This is small group time for the boys. Teen leaders
lead the small groups with devotionals or special discussions.
Battalion Action
The
entire group does an activity or works through a project together. This
time exposes boys to interest areas they may have never have
experienced before.
Games
For
boys, this is the fun part of the evening. The game time builds
relationships between men and boys as they compete together.
Council Ring
You
can use stories, devotionals, Bible studies and personal testimonies to
present the Gospel to the boys and encourage them to grow in Christ.
Leaders' Huddle
Leaders gather for a brief time to talk and pray about
the meeting.
