Awana Clubs

Kids and Parents Love Awana

squareWhy do hundreds of thousand kids attend Awana Clubs every week? Awana is FUN! That's the bottom line for most kids. Of course, they're learning and growing while they're having FUN.

Awana Club meetings are briming with life-enriching experiences for young people! Trained leaders guide children through age appropriate material. Clubbers learn that God is real, that He loves them, and that He has expressed that love through Jesus Christ. They also learn how to apply the truths of the Bible to their daily lives. In a world desperate for high standards of morality and ethics, Awana uses the Bible to teach children to honor God and their fellow human beings.

The goal of Awana Clubs is to reach boys and girls for Christ and train them to serve Him. Since 1950, churches have been using Awana to reach out to the youth in their communities. The Awana Clubs program is distinctively Christian and Bible-centered. Of course, Awana Clubs do not exclude kids based on their religious affiliation. The club meetings are open to all.

The word Awana stands for
Approved Workmen
Are Not Ashamed

and comes from 2 Timothy 2:15.
“Study to show thyself approved unto God,
a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Promote Puggles with this flier color | black and white In many circles, “puggle” is a common term for a baby platypus. In children's ministry circles, Awana Puggles is an enriching program for your pre-Cubbies kids (usually older 2- and younger 3-year-olds) that presents basic biblical concepts:

We are a unique creation of God.
God loves us very much.
Awana Puggles teaches toddlers simple lessons through teaching cards, activities, music and more. Awana Puggles leaders have a leader’s guidebook to help them plan and direct club time and communicate the lesson.

Then parents—an Awana Puggle’s first and best teacher—can step in to reinforce the lessons with take-home cards that include ideas to point out God’s work each day. And little details like Awana Puggles T-shirts, puzzles and coloring books make every precious child feel like part of the group.

Ideal for your Awana club time, nursery, Sunday school or ladies Bible study childcare, Awana Puggles is a club that plants seeds of faith and teaches toddlers God’s Word!

Cubbies

  • Angel Hillhouse (Director)

Cubbies is the Awana Club for preschoolers during the two years prior to regular kindergarten, usually three- and four-year-olds.

cubbiewCubbies is unique because it supports and maintains parents as the primary source of spiritual nurturing by directly involving them in the teaching and learning process. Cubbies uses the fundamental Awana elements of games and activities, Bible memorization, handbooks, and awards.

Sparks

  • Anita Prazak, (Director),

Sparks is the Awana Club for kindergartners, first-graders, and second-graders.

Each club meeting has three parts. In Game Time, Sparkies enjoy entertaining games played on the Awana Game Circle. During Green Meadow Time, Sparkies gather for their age-appropriate Bible lesson. During Sparkle Time, clubbers recite Bible verses from memory, complete handbook sections, and earn awards. Sparky, the friendly firefly, appears throughout the Bible-based materials to encourage clubbers to complete their handbook achievements.

Truth & Training

  • Kay Glass, Romell Carpenter (Director)

Truth is the Awana Club for third- and fourth-grade girls.

An American Indian theme is used throughout the Bible-based materials. Club meetings consist of three segments. Game Time is when fun, exciting, team-oriented games are played on the Awana Game Circle. Council Time is when clubbers get together for singing and Bible teaching, and are challenged to serve God. Handbook Time is when girls meet in separate, small groups to recite Bible verses from memory, interact with their trained adult leaders, complete their handbook sections, and earn awards.

Trianing is the club for fifth- and sixth-grade girls.

As girls mature and head toward their teenage years, they use handbooks and other materials especially geared for their older age group. Guards uses a contemporary nautical theme throughout the Bible-based materials. The club meeting features fun and competitive games and a message that focuses on the gospel and applying God's Word to daily life. During Handbook Time, leaders interact with clubbers to help them memorize and understand Scripture verses.

Trek

  • Kathy Blair (Director)

Trek is for middle-school students

jvTrek helps teens to hear God's Word among the chorus of voices. Trek gives junior-highers biblical truth with an emphasis on application in daily life. The program is designed to win the lost, build the believer, and equip the committed for fruitful ministry.

Trek answers the questions  our kids are asking — literally! We asked hundreds of middle-school students, “What’s your biggest question about God and the Bible?” Trek takes these real questions from real students and answers them from the Bible in a relevant, engaging way.
